‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Renewed at Netflix for Final Two Seasons

As of March 6, Netflix has announced that the live-action adaptation of the popular Nickelodeon series of the same name will return for two more seasons to complete the epic story.

The Netflix original series will follow the same structure as the animated version and end after Season 3.

A release from Netflix shares, “The live-action reimagining of the beloved animated series will return with a second and third season to conclude the epic story as the four nations unite – Water. Earth. Fire. Air. – to bring The Legend of Aang to its proper conclusion.”

Avatar: The Last Airbender has been a tremendous success since its debut on February 22. The first season, consisting of eight episodes, has quickly become one of the most-watched series on Netflix.

In just 11 days, it received a whopping 41.1 million views, becoming the top English TV show and ranked No. 1 in 76 countries and the top 10 in 92.

Gordon Cormier stars as Aang, Kiawentiio Tarbell as waterbender Katara, Ian Ousley as her brother Sokka, Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko, Elizabeth Yu as Princess Azula, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Iroh, Ken Leung as Commander Zhao and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is now streaming on Netflix.
