Get ready to head back to the town of Wellsbury, because the hit Netflix show Ginny & Georgia has been renewed for two more seasons.
On May 18 the streaming platform posted a video of the cast doing a “get ready with me” video that ended with the renewal announcement.
“Get ready peaches. GINNY & GEORGIA is coming back for seasons 3 & 4!!” the caption read.
The official Ginny & Georgia page also posted about the news with a simple photo of a “3 & 4” with the caption “This is because of the fans.”
The first season followed Ginny (Antonia Gentry), a 15-year-old who is more mature than her 30-year-old mother, Georgia (Brianne Howey) in a New England town, where Georgia decided to settle down with her daughter and son, Ginny and Austin (Diesel La Torraca).
While season two showed Ginny as she figured out how to live with the knowledge that her mother is a murderer. Burdened with the new understanding that Kenny – her step-dad – didn’t die of natural causes, now Ginny must deal with the fact that Georgia not only killed, she killed to protect Ginny.
The second season ended off on a huge cliffhanger so it’s no surprise that the drama show got renewed, especially since it spent three weeks at the top of the streamer’s internal rankings for English-language series and earned around 500 million watch hours worldwide over its first 28 days
Along with getting two more seasons the show also got a new showrunner. Sarah Glinski will be taking over for the upcoming seasons, replacing Debra J. Fisher, who worked on the first two seasons.
